Hardwood windows in Greater Manchester
Bespoke timber windows and doors, surveyed, made and installed across Greater Manchester — Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Stockport, Oldham and everywhere between.
Most hardwood windows enquiries we take from Greater Manchester start with a photograph and a rough measurement. That is enough for an indicative figure — the survey firms it up.
Our timber joinery are made from kiln-dried hardwood, machined in the workshop and factory-finished before they ever reach a Greater Manchester site. Wet-brushing on site is where timber windows get a bad name.
What we bring to a Greater Manchester project
- Kiln-dried to 12% moisture content before machining, so the sections stay true once they are installed.
- Engineered laminated sections on anything over 1.2m, which resist bowing far better than solid stock.
- Stainless or solid brass ironmongery, because plated steel fails first and takes the finish with it.
- Weathered cills with a proper drip groove, so water leaves the timber instead of tracking back under it.
- Glazing beaded internally, so the sealed units can be replaced without disturbing the external finish.

Prices below are supplied-and-fitted including VAT, for a typical domestic unit in Idigbo with double glazing and a factory-painted finish. Oak, Accoya, triple glazing and larger openings move the figure up; ordering several units at once brings it down.

Questions from Greater Manchester homeowners
How do the surveys and quotations work?
The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.
What sort of guarantee do you offer?
Ten years on the joinery and the manufacture, and the sealed units carry their own manufacturer's warranty. Accoya frames carry the 50-year above-ground timber warranty from the material supplier. All of it is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
Will the timber warp or stick?
Not if it is specified correctly. Sticking comes from moisture ingress into unsealed end grain, or from solid stock used where laminated sections were needed. Kiln-dried timber, sealed end grain, factory finishing and engineered sections on longer spans between them eliminate it.
Can you fit trickle vents?
Where Building Regulations require background ventilation, we design it into the head of the frame at manufacture. That looks far better and performs far better than a vent drilled through a finished frame on site.
Do you work on listed buildings?
Regularly. Listed building consent turns on detail — sightlines, glazing bar sections, opening method and glass type. We survey the existing joinery, record the profiles and produce drawings you can submit. We will not quote a detail we know will not pass.
