Hardwood windows in Pembrokeshire

Bespoke timber windows and doors, surveyed, made and installed across Pembrokeshire — Haverfordwest, Tenby, Pembroke, St Davids, Narberth and everywhere between.

Our hardwood windows are made from kiln-dried hardwood, machined in the workshop and factory-finished before they ever reach a Pembrokeshire site. Wet-brushing on site is where timber windows get a bad name.

A well-made timber joinery in Pembrokeshire should open with one hand, seal without slamming and need nothing more than a wash and an occasional inspection. That is the standard we work to.

What we bring to a Pembrokeshire project

Standard on every order
  • End-grain sealed at every cut before assembly — the single detail that decides whether joinery rots.
  • Compression seals rather than brush pile where the design allows, for a measurably tighter close.
  • Micro-porous finishes that let the timber breathe rather than trapping moisture behind a hard film.
  • FSC-certified hardwood with documented chain of custody, available on request for planning submissions.
  • Factory-finished in controlled conditions — three coats minimum, fully cured before delivery.

Prices below are supplied-and-fitted including VAT, for a typical domestic unit in Idigbo with double glazing and a factory-painted finish. Oak, Accoya, triple glazing and larger openings move the figure up; ordering several units at once brings it down.

Questions from Pembrokeshire homeowners

Can I have double glazing in a conservation area?

Usually, yes — using slim-profile sealed units as narrow as 11mm, which fit within traditional glazing bar sections without fattening them. Conservation officers vary, so we specify from the outset to whatever the local authority has stated and provide section drawings for the application.

Do you repair windows or only replace them?

We repair wherever repair is the right answer. Rot is normally localised in a cill or the bottom of a stile, and splicing in new hardwood is typically a third of the cost of replacement. We will tell you honestly at survey which way the economics fall.

Can you match existing windows?

Yes. That is most of what we do. We record the existing sections at survey, reproduce the mouldings and sightlines, and match the finish. On listed buildings we will produce like-for-like profile drawings for the consent application.

Are hardwood windows secure?

Yes. Multi-point locking, laminated glass options and key-locking handles are all available, and a solid hardwood frame is considerably harder to attack than a hollow plastic one. We can specify to PAS 24 where a planning condition or insurer requires it.

Do you take away the old windows?

Yes. Removal and responsible disposal are included, along with making good internally. We work one opening at a time so the property is never left open, and we clear the site each day.
