Accoya Windows in Ryde
Accoya is acetylated timber — dimensionally stable, rot-resistant and warranted for 50 years above ground. The best-performing paint substrate available.
If you have been quoted for accoya windows in Ryde and the price looked suspiciously round, it was almost certainly a standard size with a filler piece. We do not work that way.
What is included
- Weathered cills with a proper drip groove, so water leaves the timber instead of tracking back under it.
- Trickle ventilation designed into the head where Building Regulations require it, not drilled in afterwards.
- Engineered laminated sections on anything over 1.2m, which resist bowing far better than solid stock.
- Weathered cills with a proper drip groove, so water leaves the timber instead of tracking back under it.
We treat accoya windows in Ryde as joinery rather than a product line. That means real sections, real ironmongery and a finish specified for the exposure the building actually gets.
If you are working to a planning or listed building condition in Isle of Wight, send us the wording — we will specify to it and provide the drawings you need.

What is Accoya and is it worth the premium?
Accoya is timber that has been acetylated — chemically modified so it no longer absorbs water. It barely moves, does not rot, and carries a 50-year above-ground warranty. It is the single best paint substrate available. For exposed elevations and coastal sites the premium usually pays for itself.
How do the surveys and quotations work?
The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.
What sort of guarantee do you offer?
Ten years on the joinery and the manufacture, and the sealed units carry their own manufacturer's warranty. Accoya frames carry the 50-year above-ground timber warranty from the material supplier. All of it is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
Will the timber warp or stick?
Not if it is specified correctly. Sticking comes from moisture ingress into unsealed end grain, or from solid stock used where laminated sections were needed. Kiln-dried timber, sealed end grain, factory finishing and engineered sections on longer spans between them eliminate it.
