Draught Proofing & Restoration in Wrexham
Routed-in brush pile, new cords and rebalanced weights turn a rattling original sash into something that seals and glides.
We build draught proofing & restoration for Wrexham homes to the size of the hole in the wall, not to the nearest standard unit. That is the whole reason to specify timber in the first place.
Specified for Wrexham properties
- Factory-finished in controlled conditions — three coats minimum, fully cured before delivery.
- Warm-edge spacer bars as standard, which cut the cold bridge at the glass edge and reduce condensation.
- End-grain sealed at every cut before assembly — the single detail that decides whether joinery rots.
- Compression seals rather than brush pile where the design allows, for a measurably tighter close.
- Micro-porous finishes that let the timber breathe rather than trapping moisture behind a hard film.
Homeowners across Wrexham come to us for draught proofing & restoration after a uPVC replacement has aged badly. Timber is the material you specify when you intend to still be happy with it in twenty years.
We install across Wrexham with our own fitting teams and make good internally as part of the price. No sub-contracted surprises.

Questions
What is Accoya and is it worth the premium?
Accoya is timber that has been acetylated — chemically modified so it no longer absorbs water. It barely moves, does not rot, and carries a 50-year above-ground warranty. It is the single best paint substrate available. For exposed elevations and coastal sites the premium usually pays for itself.
How do the surveys and quotations work?
The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.
What sort of guarantee do you offer?
Ten years on the joinery and the manufacture, and the sealed units carry their own manufacturer's warranty. Accoya frames carry the 50-year above-ground timber warranty from the material supplier. All of it is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
Will the timber warp or stick?
Not if it is specified correctly. Sticking comes from moisture ingress into unsealed end grain, or from solid stock used where laminated sections were needed. Kiln-dried timber, sealed end grain, factory finishing and engineered sections on longer spans between them eliminate it.
Can you fit trickle vents?
Where Building Regulations require background ventilation, we design it into the head of the frame at manufacture. That looks far better and performs far better than a vent drilled through a finished frame on site.
