Idigbo Windows in Harrogate
Idigbo is a light, even-grained hardwood that machines cleanly and holds a painted finish exceptionally well — the value choice in solid hardwood.
Most idigbo windows enquiries we take from Harrogate start with a photograph and a rough measurement. That is enough for an indicative figure — the survey firms it up.
What is included
- Kiln-dried to 12% moisture content before machining, so the sections stay true once they are installed.
- Stainless or solid brass ironmongery, because plated steel fails first and takes the finish with it.
- Glazing beaded internally, so the sealed units can be replaced without disturbing the external finish.
- Kiln-dried to 12% moisture content before machining, so the sections stay true once they are installed.
Harrogate has a housing stock that punishes off-the-shelf joinery — openings settle, reveals go out of square, and cills rarely sit level. Bespoke idigbo windows solve that properly.
If you are working to a planning or listed building condition in North Yorkshire, send us the wording — we will specify to it and provide the drawings you need.

How do the surveys and quotations work?
The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.
What sort of guarantee do you offer?
Ten years on the joinery and the manufacture, and the sealed units carry their own manufacturer's warranty. Accoya frames carry the 50-year above-ground timber warranty from the material supplier. All of it is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
Will the timber warp or stick?
Not if it is specified correctly. Sticking comes from moisture ingress into unsealed end grain, or from solid stock used where laminated sections were needed. Kiln-dried timber, sealed end grain, factory finishing and engineered sections on longer spans between them eliminate it.
Can you fit trickle vents?
Where Building Regulations require background ventilation, we design it into the head of the frame at manufacture. That looks far better and performs far better than a vent drilled through a finished frame on site.
