Timber Casement Windows in Gwynedd

Hardwood casement windows with concealed hinges, multi-point locking and slim sightlines that suit period and new-build homes alike.

£1,400 – £1,900Guide range in Gwynedd, supplied and fitted, including VAT.

We build timber casement windows for Gwynedd homes to the size of the hole in the wall, not to the nearest standard unit. That is the whole reason to specify timber in the first place.

Specified for Gwynedd properties

Standard specification
  • Factory-finished in controlled conditions — three coats minimum, fully cured before delivery.
  • Warm-edge spacer bars as standard, which cut the cold bridge at the glass edge and reduce condensation.
  • End-grain sealed at every cut before assembly — the single detail that decides whether joinery rots.
  • Compression seals rather than brush pile where the design allows, for a measurably tighter close.
  • Micro-porous finishes that let the timber breathe rather than trapping moisture behind a hard film.

Homeowners across Gwynedd come to us for timber casement windows after a uPVC replacement has aged badly. Timber is the material you specify when you intend to still be happy with it in twenty years.

We install across Gwynedd with our own fitting teams and make good internally as part of the price. No sub-contracted surprises.

Questions

How much maintenance do they need?

Far less than people expect. Wash the frames twice a year, inspect the finish annually, and expect to recoat exposed elevations every eight to ten years. Sheltered elevations often go considerably longer. Modern micro-porous coatings are a different product entirely from the gloss paints that gave timber its reputation.

Which hardwood should I choose?

It depends on the finish. For painted work, Idigbo and Accoya are excellent — stable, even-grained and superb paint substrates. For a stained or oiled finish where the grain is meant to show, European oak and Sapele are the usual choices. We will recommend a species at survey based on your finish and exposure.

What is Accoya and is it worth the premium?

Accoya is timber that has been acetylated — chemically modified so it no longer absorbs water. It barely moves, does not rot, and carries a 50-year above-ground warranty. It is the single best paint substrate available. For exposed elevations and coastal sites the premium usually pays for itself.

How do the surveys and quotations work?

The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.

What sort of guarantee do you offer?

Ten years on the joinery and the manufacture, and the sealed units carry their own manufacturer's warranty. Accoya frames carry the 50-year above-ground timber warranty from the material supplier. All of it is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
