Timber Sliding Patio Doors in Craigavon

Lift-and-slide gear takes the weight off the seals when the door moves, then drops it back down to compress them shut.

£5,200 – £7,400Guide range for Craigavon, supplied and fitted, including VAT.

We build timber sliding patio doors for Craigavon homes to the size of the hole in the wall, not to the nearest standard unit. That is the whole reason to specify timber in the first place.

What is included

Standard on every Craigavon order
  • Engineered laminated sections on anything over 1.2m, which resist bowing far better than solid stock.
  • Weathered cills with a proper drip groove, so water leaves the timber instead of tracking back under it.
  • Trickle ventilation designed into the head where Building Regulations require it, not drilled in afterwards.
  • Engineered laminated sections on anything over 1.2m, which resist bowing far better than solid stock.

Our sliding doors are made from kiln-dried hardwood, machined in the workshop and factory-finished before they ever reach a Craigavon site. Wet-brushing on site is where timber windows get a bad name.

Ask for the guide price first. If the range works for your budget, we will book a survey in Craigavon and firm it up properly.

Questions

How much maintenance do they need?

Far less than people expect. Wash the frames twice a year, inspect the finish annually, and expect to recoat exposed elevations every eight to ten years. Sheltered elevations often go considerably longer. Modern micro-porous coatings are a different product entirely from the gloss paints that gave timber its reputation.

Which hardwood should I choose?

It depends on the finish. For painted work, Idigbo and Accoya are excellent — stable, even-grained and superb paint substrates. For a stained or oiled finish where the grain is meant to show, European oak and Sapele are the usual choices. We will recommend a species at survey based on your finish and exposure.

What is Accoya and is it worth the premium?

Accoya is timber that has been acetylated — chemically modified so it no longer absorbs water. It barely moves, does not rot, and carries a 50-year above-ground warranty. It is the single best paint substrate available. For exposed elevations and coastal sites the premium usually pays for itself.

How do the surveys and quotations work?

The guide price tool gives you an indicative range in a couple of minutes. If that range works, we book a free survey — measurements, profiles, exposure, access — and issue a fixed written quotation with a drawing. Nothing is manufactured until you have approved that drawing.
