Timber Window Replacement in Blyth

Where the existing joinery is beyond economic repair, we replace like-for-like in hardwood — usually reusing the original opening.

£1,700 – £2,400Guide range for Blyth, supplied and fitted, including VAT.

Blyth has a housing stock that punishes off-the-shelf joinery — openings settle, reveals go out of square, and cills rarely sit level. Bespoke timber window replacement solve that properly.

What is included

Standard on every Blyth order
  • Warm-edge spacer bars as standard, which cut the cold bridge at the glass edge and reduce condensation.
  • Compression seals rather than brush pile where the design allows, for a measurably tighter close.
  • FSC-certified hardwood with documented chain of custody, available on request for planning submissions.

If you have been quoted for replacement in Blyth and the price looked suspiciously round, it was almost certainly a standard size with a filler piece. We do not work that way.

We survey across Northumberland at no charge and with no obligation. You get a fixed written price, a lead time and a drawing before anything is ordered.

Questions

Do you repair windows or only replace them?

We repair wherever repair is the right answer. Rot is normally localised in a cill or the bottom of a stile, and splicing in new hardwood is typically a third of the cost of replacement. We will tell you honestly at survey which way the economics fall.

Can you match existing windows?

Yes. That is most of what we do. We record the existing sections at survey, reproduce the mouldings and sightlines, and match the finish. On listed buildings we will produce like-for-like profile drawings for the consent application.

Are hardwood windows secure?

Yes. Multi-point locking, laminated glass options and key-locking handles are all available, and a solid hardwood frame is considerably harder to attack than a hollow plastic one. We can specify to PAS 24 where a planning condition or insurer requires it.

Do you take away the old windows?

Yes. Removal and responsible disposal are included, along with making good internally. We work one opening at a time so the property is never left open, and we clear the site each day.
